About Me

My career in mental health began in 1997 when I started working with refugees and immigrants who had endured profound trauma. In the early stages of this work, I was deeply affected by the severity of their experiences, often grappling with feelings of anger, sorrow, and disbelief. Witnessing such pain was overwhelming, yet it also ignited a deep commitment within me to better understand and support those navigating the effects of trauma.

Over time, my perspective evolved, and my passion for this work deepened. I developed a profound appreciation for the resilience of survivors and the innate strength of the human spirit. My desire to help individuals process their trauma and emerge from darkness grew stronger. Through the healing power of empathy and therapy, I was able to support these individuals on their journey to recovery. In addition to providing emotional and therapeutic care, I also connected families with essential community resources to aid in their healing and stability.

With over 19 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, families, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. I firmly believe in human resilience and the transformative power of therapy to foster healing in a safe, non-judgmental environment. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, integrating evidence-based modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Family Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and Person-Centered Therapy. I also incorporate culturally responsive techniques, ensuring that counseling is tailored to each client’s unique needs and objectives.

I am certified in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), an evidence-based approach developed by Dr. Stuart Ablon. The CPS model is rooted in the belief that “Kids do well if they can,” emphasizing skill-building and understanding to support children and families effectively.

Beyond my professional work, I prioritize self-care and balance by immersing myself in nature through hiking and walking. I also enjoy photography, travel, reading, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. These activities help me recharge and remain present in both my personal and professional life. I am honored to walk alongside my clients on their path to healing and growth, providing support, understanding, and evidence-based care every step of the way.
